[Slovenian Cross-Index] SLOVENIAN GENEALOGY SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL, INC. Founded 1986
WHAT IS SGSI: We are a self-help, non-profit society, composed entirely of volunteers who love family history. The Society can bring you up to date on established information sources, as well as keep you abreast of new sources through our quarterly newsletter. We encourage a free interchange of information among our members and try to find new and innovative ways to share our data and information. We encourage our members to participate, to the extent they are able, in genealogical projects such as building indexes and collecting books. SGSI
Library: By appointment
only. It is located at the President's address in Pennsylvania. We are actively
seeking donations of Slovenian books, book swaps of duplicates with
other Slovenian collections, seeking Slovenian photographs for
safekeeping, etc. Don’t know what to do with those old Slovenian
books, magazines, and church jubilee books in Grandma’s attic?

Research Services (members only):
The SIRL
offers an opportunity for all Slovenian researchers to post queries
listing the surnames, place names and dates, and other details of their
pedigree ancestor, and pose their questions. The List was
initially comprised of queries posted in the SGSI Newsletter.
Email submittals to the SIRL Editor, and snail mail
submittals to the SGSI headquarters address, are added to the SIRL
regularly. The SIRL lists the queries with the researcher’s email
address, snail mail address, or a reference number for contacting the
submitter.
Chapters
of the Slovenian Genealogy Society International: Beginning in 1995,
the SGSI began forming State, Provincial and National Chapters of
the SGSI. For more information on these chapters please go
