FIRST, A CAVEAT: exhaustive as it is, the City Pages 2007 Minnesota Music Directory cannot help you with every single thing you need to establish your presence in the local music community. You'll need to fi nd out for yourself how beaten-up a guitar can look while still playing well, the best slipmats and cartridge needles to use, which up-to-date Sound Forge plug-ins you should buy, what Van Halen song to cover (or sample), how to rock a party and/or turn the party out, where to get those choice belt buckles or throwback Adidas, what pop-culture reference to use for your band name, how punk you really are, and whether or not leather pants are right for you. (Ask your doctor about that one.)
