December 8, 2006: EPA proposes federal plans for the Clean Air Mercury Rule. EPA proposed these plans as backstops to ensure that power plants affected by the Clean Air Mercury Rule (CAMR) reduce their mercury emissions on schedule. Comments on this proposal are due to EPA by February 20, 2007.

Controlling Power Plant Emissions

EPA is regulating and reducing power plant mercury emissions for the first time ever. EPA issued the Clean Air Mercury Rule on March 15, 2005.
