If you meet Ben Affleck in person, the word ''shy'' doesn't exactly spring to mind, but it's understandable if fans feel like he's been awfully quiet of late. Following a string of high profile flops Daredevil, Gigli, Paycheck, Jersey Girl, Surviving Christmas Affleck shut down both his public and professional lives, taking a hiatus of nearly two years' duration. Which makes Affleck's return to the big screen as the 1950s TV star George Reeves in last fall's Hollywoodland all the sweeter. The role won the 34-year-old a Best Actor nod at the 2006 Venice Film Festival, a Golden Globe nomination (his first as a performer) and even some dark-horse Oscar buzz. The Oscar-winning Boston native sat down with EW.com for a candid review of his 20-year-plus career.
