Socialism 2006 provides a place
where activists, writers and others from today,s fights against
the Right can come together to discuss how we can rebuild the
Left and win a world where ordinary people will decide the priorities
of our society. Join us in New York for a weekend of nearly 100
meetings, plus a book fair, activists, tables, parties, and entertainment!
The weekend kicks off Thursday,
June 22, with a performance of Howard Zinn's Voices of a People's
History of the United States where the words of rebels and dissenters
such as Frederick Douglass, George Jackson, Chief Joseph, Martin
Luther King Jr. and many others come alive in dramatic readings
by several renowned artists and performers.
Performance begins at 8PM at
the New York Society for Ethical Culture, 2 West 64th Street
at Central Park West
