its interesting to hear miles use the natural minor scale throughout his enitre solo while herbie is playing a whole array of dorian and diminished scales but mile's rythmic communication with herbie and tony williams is outta this world. where's the whole thing? I want some heat for wayne too! (that means i want to see his solo)

stop trying to show off your knowledge of music theory. you just sound nerdy. miles solo had to do more with feeling not theory anyways. ah, jazz squares.

people who actually understand music theory understand how the "theory" terms explain the "feeling" of the music. it's about the "feeling" for us too, we just hear it better and more clearly than you do.

thats the worst piece of bul***** ive ever heard in my life that we hear the feeling of music better and more clearly than other people because we know the theory of it youll never be a musician with that kind of mindset

it's not paul chambers but Ron Carter. Paul Chambers played in the group Miles had previous to this one, ft. Coltrane and Adderley.

give up right now, just put down the guitar and for gods sake stop playing the dorian mode. nobody wants to hear you play, its ok. theres no need to hide it all your life like a doctor who cheated on his exams. just accept that your not a musicial person and move on to something else before you have a wife and kids who are doomed for life to lie to you about how good you are forever

hahaha. son, i play music professionally. so i guess nobody does wanna hear me play....except the ppl that hire me and the audiences. [oops] look, what happened here? u were proud of the 5 chords u knew how to play until one day u became aware enough about music to realize u know nothing? we all had that happen to us, the difference is we put effort in and learned it all, and u sit around and bark at ppl who did so u can pretend anyone gives a sh_t about the 5 chords u know how to play.

as ive been trying to say i do know all the chords and theory but you need to feel music the same as someone who doesnt know anything feels it. if you dont understand that miles' playing has a feeling that everyone hears with the same depth, then your mindset is messed up. there are lots of gigs for people who can play competantly but when it comes to pure invention and expression i dont think your there judging from what you say
