Overview
Going on it's 36th year of operation, our community fire department
continues to provide an essential community emergency public safety service.
Within those 36 years; several community members have and continue to put
their lives on the line to protect others. The community fire department has
had the privilege and honour of retiring several local community members
who dedicated 20,25 or 30 plus years of service. These retired Firefighters
definitely found the Volunteer Firefighter position challenging and a rewarding
experience. Today, the community continues to be fortunate to have several
active and dedicated "Firefighters".
In today's fire service, the role of the "Community Volunteer Firefighter"
has become increasingly demanding. Factors such as changing lifestyles, government
regulations, operational requirements, public safety, litigation, etc., require
the Community Volunteer Firefighter to be more skilled and knowledgeable.
In Moose Factory, the teams of dedicated Firefighters have and continue
to be a major factor in providing a high standard of community fire
rescue services. The fire department is currently in the process of
recruiting more community members who are prepared to commit to the
requirements of the Community Volunteer Firefighter.
