Another person has died from dengue, bringing the death toll in Singapore to 12 this year.
The 38-year-old shop assistant was admitted to Alexandra Hospital on 21 September and was diagnosed with dengue fever the next day.
She developed Dengue Shock Syndrome with multi-organ failure on 23 September and died four days later.
Meanwhile the number of dengue cases between 3pm on Tuesday and 3pm on Wednesday went down significantly.
104 cases were reported - down from Tuesday's record daily high of 157 cases.
But the number of people admitted to hospitals remained stable, with 76 admissions on Tuesday compared to 75 on Monday.
220 mosquito-breeding sites were found and destroyed during last weekend's carpet combing exercise.
Scupper drains along common corridors, perimeter and carpark drains were the biggest problem.
These and other areas under town councils' responsibility accounted for 47% of the breeding habitats.
One third of the breeding sites were found in flower pot trays and pails of water, which are the responsibility of residents.
Last weekend's anti-mosquito blitz targeted Toa Payoh, Bishan, Tampines, Boon Lay, Jurong West, Bedok and Choa Chu Kang, covering more than 2,000 HDB blocks.
Adult mosquitoes were only found at five spots and fogging was carried out to destroy them. - CNA/ir
