I get permission to use a photo I saw on TIME.com or in TIME magazine?
Because TIME.com
generally does not own the copyright to any of the photographs on our site,
we cannot grant you permission to use the photographs for anything other
than viewing them on TIME.com as they were originally published. Copyrights
are owned either by the photographer, the photographer's estate, or the
photo agency or news service for which the photographer works. Every photograph
on TIME.com is accompanied by a credit that should include the photographer's
name and representative or the copyright holder. The credit is either directly
beneath the photograph or at the bottom of the page. You will need to contact
that agency and ask them for permission. In most cases you will be required
to pay a fee for the use of the photos. |

I get a specific photo e-mailed to me?
Because we are
very busy here at TIME.com, we cannot fulfill these kinds of requests.

We hope you can find what you are looking for there. You can also look
on the web site for LIFE magazine: www.lifemag.com
If you still cannot
find what you are looking for, there are many excellent search engines
on the Internet that may assist you in your search. Please remember that
all the photographs on TIME.com, and most of the photographs on the world
