Wolves 96, Clippers 84: KG scores 31 points

On Monday morning the Timberwolves worked. Hard, breaking a sweat while trying to wash away the bitter taste of Sunday's last-second loss to Memphis. That's where the Wolves' 96-84 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night had its start, its roots. Boys' basketball: Chaska 86, Burnsville 52

Way back before the basketball season began, the boys from Chaska circled Feb. 10 on the calendar. That was Tuesday, the day of their first Lake Conference meeting with Burnsville. And in using an explosive second half to beat the visiting Blaze 86-52, the top-ranked Hawks made a statement to the rest of Class 4A.

Gophers try more bonding in preparation for Michigan

When practice was over Tuesday, the carpool to the movie theatre began. The Gophers men's basketball players, the coaches and managers hopped in cars and made the two-mile drive to the St. Anthony Main theatres. The reason? A 4:20 p.m. screening of the movie "Miracle," something Gophers coach Dan Monson hopes will bring his team together as it looks for its first Big Ten victory tonight when it is host to Michigan.

The No. 18 Interstate Batteries Chevrolet of Bobby Labonte will be used to promote the controversial Mel Gibson movie "The Passion of the Christ."
