America Ferrera, Common, Ann Dowd and Melonie Diaz have joined the cast of Ryan Piers Williams’ “X/Y,” his follow-up to his 2010 Sundance debut “The Dry Land.”

Additional cast in the relationship drama — which follows an interconnected group of friends in New York city — include Williams,  Jon Paul Phillips, Dree Hemingway, Adam Rapp, Maria Dizzia and David Harbour.

“X/Y” is produced by Ferrera, Thomas B. Fore, Jason Michael Berman, Williams and Kwesi Collisson. Lensing has started and the movie will be shot entirely in New York City.

“X/Y” follows characters played by Ferrera and Williams as their relationship falters and looks at the effect their struggle has on their inner circle of friends.

Williams recently produced “Kilimanjaro,” starring Brian Geraghty, which had is world premiere at SXSW.

Exec producers are Mark G. Mathis, Margo Johnston, Dori A. Sperko, Paull Cho, Todd Feuer, Mike Feuer, Jason Silverman, Caroline Kaplan and Kim Gillingham.
