A Manchester man recounts his rollercoaster of emotions after an official-looking parcel from the People's Postcode Lottery turned up on his doorstep. For Chris Cork, who had been playing the lottery for eight long years, the arrival of the package was a moment of great anticipation.

However, his joy was soon quashed when he opened it. Instead of finding a life-changing amount of money inside, he discovered something far less exciting, reports Derbyshire Live. Expressing his disbelief in a TikTok video shared under his username @chriscork89, Chris exclaims: "I am a People's Postcode Lottery WINNER... well I thought I was."

He details the moments leading up to the revelation: "I've been doing the People's Postcode Lottery for eight years. The postman just knocked on my door, gave me this, which is quite big. Sealed. I thought I've done it. I've won a lot of money."

He even spied around his front garden looking for a surprise TV crew or presenter, commenting: "Look out the door to see if there was a camera crew there or Daniel was there, nobody was there. I thought it says 'share your win'. As I peeled that back, a little bit of excitement creeps in. I thought this could be a cheque. If you look at the size of that, it looks like a cheque could be in there."

Finally revealing what the much-anticipated package contained, he remarked: "You will never guess what I have won,".

"Congratulations. You've won to set a f***** handmade soaps. I mean, they don't even smell nice. F*** sake! Why do you need that for two little soaps? I played it eight years and they've never, ever done anything like that. Soaps or anything. I went from a cheque, a couple of grand to two f*****g soaps that are going to go in the bin."

The video has since gone viral, gathering over 60,000 likes and a plethora of funny comments. One viewer responded: "Sorry mate you had me in stitches." Yet another weighed in: "Never played it. So tempted now after seeing such charity fair prizes on offer," while someone else quipped: "That's worse than the few teabags I won."

The People's Postcode Lottery has been contacted for a statement.
