The American Revolution comes at ye fast.

So Claire and Jamie are in a very somber mood, indeed, in the new teaser for the back half of Outlander Season 7.

Starz released the first peek at the drama’s upcoming episodes Saturday in conjunction with World Outlander Day. As previously announced, the second half of Season 7 will premiere on Friday, Nov. 22, at 8/7c on Starz. (New episodes will be available at midnight Fridays on the Starz app and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.)

The eight episodes left in Season 7 will find Claire, Jamie and Young Ian returning to Scotland, where — per the official synopsis — “the perils of the Revolutionary War force them to choose between standing by those they love and fighting for the land they have made their new home.” While that’s going on, Roger and Brianna “face new enemies across time, and must battle the forces that threaten to pull their family apart.” (View behind-the-scenes photos below.)

The series is currently filming its eighth and final season, which will consist of 10 episodes. On Saturday, Starz also announced three additions to the Season 8 cast. Kieran Bew (House of the Dragon) will play Capt. Charles Cunningham, a retired British soldier. Frances Tomelty (Catastrophe) will play his mother, Elspeth Cunningham. Carla Woodcock (Free Rein) will play Amaranthus Grey, who is described as “a new member of the Grey family.”

As previously reported, showrunner Matthew B. Roberts said Season 7 will also “revisit some of our favorite characters in different times and places,” and will feature the return of Graham McTavish (who plays Dougal MacKenzie), Nell Hudson (Laoghaire Fraser), Steven Cree (the elder Ian Murray), Lotte Verbeek (Geillis Duncan), Andrew Whipp (Brian Fraser) and Layla Burns (Joan MacKimmmie).

Sometime series star Tobias Menzies recently divulged to TVLine that he will not reprise his roles of Frank Randall or Jonathan Wolverton “Black Jack” Randall before the series signs off for good. “It would be great,” he said in an interview. “[But] no, you will not see me.”

The network also previously ordered a spinoff, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, centered on Jamie’s and Claire’s parents.
