NEW DELHI: Belgium and Slovakia will start their Euro 2024 journeys on Monday in Group E. The match is scheduled to take place in Frankfurt at 6 p.m. local time (1600 GMT). Romania and Ukraine are also part of this compelling group of fixtures.
Both teams have strong ties to Italian football, adding an interesting layer to the match. Marek Hamsik, who has recently retired and is now an assistant coach, holds Slovakia’s goal-scoring record with 26 goals.
Belgium’s captain, Kevin De Bruyne, recently celebrated his 100th national team appearance by scoring a goal in a 2-0 win against Montenegro. On the other hand, Slovakia set an unfortunate record in March for conceding the fastest goal in men’s international soccer history. Austria’s Christoph Baumgartner scored just six seconds into their match.
