Will ensure petrol bomb attacks don’t recur: Conrad
Shillong: In the wake of a series of petrol bomb attacks on vehicles in several parts of Shillong over the past few days, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday assured the people that the situation would be brought under control soon.
“I assure the people of the city and the state that the govt is doing everything in its capacity to ensure that such incidents don’t happen in future,” he said.
“Police have taken steps. I don’t want to go into the details of it, but we are on the job,’ he added.
Stating that the govt has not been able to collect the CCTV footage of the arson cases, the chief minister said, “The govt is taking steps on the basis of evidence, and action will be taken soon.”
“The police and the govt will act as per the law and if anybody commits a crime, the law has procedures to take action against the accused,” the CM said.
East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi said perpetrators of the petrol bomb attacks on govt properties would be arrested soon.
