Celebrating flavors. Honoring heritages.

Here’s the door to a whole new culinary world.

My name is Suu and I am a recipe developer, food blogger, stylist and photographer based in Houston, Texas. I was born, raised and proudly rooted in Burma (Myanmar). I started cooking since 8, by helping my grandmother prepare family meals everyday. The purpose of this blog is to preserve and celebrate my culinary heritage as well as to make Burmese cuisine a little less mysterious and a little more loved for its richness in diversity and flavors. I hope to make the culture, traditions, history and the presence of Burma known to the world with our cuisine and build an esteemed culinary identity, the country and her people truly deserve.

" I'm asked a lot what the best thing about cooking for a living is. And it's this: to be a part of a subculture. To be part of a historical continuum, a secret society with its own language and customs. To enjoy the instant gratification of making something good with one's hands - using all one's senses. It can be, at times, the purest and most unselfish way of giving pleasure. "— Anthony Bourdain
