NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville Predators general manager Barry Trotz indicated a strong lean this week when asked about his team’s No. 1 question, goaltender Juuse Saros, saying: “He wants to be here and I’d like him to be here, so we’re going to work hard on getting something done with him.”

Or did he? Trotz also said of the players on the first Preds team under his watch, which overachieved to make the playoffs before losing in six games to Vancouver: “I would like to have every one of those young men back, and then try to add some more pieces.”

That obviously can’t happen, though Trotz may like it to happen. He might like Saros to sign a long-term extension before entering the final season of his deal, but there’s another side to the negotiations — and there are other teams who may have enough interest in Saros to call Trotz and change the math.

Here are the words from Trotz that should be most heeded by Preds fans entering the offseason: “Everything’s on the table.”

That’s true as well in this, The Athletic’s annual Nashville Predators fan survey. Responses will be collected until noon CT on Monday, and the results will be posted next week. If these 10 questions don’t hit the points that most interest you, or you just want to elaborate on your answers, feel free to do so in the comments section.
