ESPN's College GameDay in Dallas

Oct. 13, 2009

Longhorns fans will once again have the opportunity to be a part of the ESPN College GameDay experience, as the show is set to cover the team for the second time this season, the fifth time in the last two seasons and the 13th in its history when No. 3/2 Texas faces No. 20/18 Oklahoma in Dallas on Saturday in the AT&T Red River Rivalry.

The set will be stationed at the Esplanade across from the Texas Hall of State, located on the north side of the Cotton Bowl on the State Fairgrounds. The broadcast will begin at 9 a.m. Central.

It will be the show's second straight year covering the game and the fourth overall, including last season when No. 5 Texas defeated No. 1 Oklahoma, 45-35; 2001 when No. 3 Oklahoma defeated No. 5 Texas, 14-3; and 2002 when No. 2 Oklahoma defeated No. 3 Texas, 35-24.

Overall, Texas is 8-4 with the GameDay crew in attendance. It has visited Austin on six occasions, including this year's 34-24 win over Texas Tech. It was also on hand in 2008 when No. 1 Texas defeated No. 11 Missouri, 56-31; 2006 when No. 1 Ohio State defeated No. 2 Texas, 24-7; 2005 when No. 2 Texas defeated No. 10 Texas Tech, 52-17; 2003 when No. 13 Texas defeated No. 16 Kansas State, 24-20; and 1999 when No. 18 Texas upset No. 3 Nebraska, also by the score of 24-20.

GameDay has also been on hand on three other occasions for road and neutral games. It twice covered the Longhorns in 2005 when No. 2 Texas defeated No. 4 Ohio State, 25-22, in Columbus, Ohio, and then for the 2005 BCS National Championship Game when No. 2 Texas defeated No. 1 USC, 41-38. It was also present last season when No. 6 Texas Tech defeated No. 1 Texas, 39-33, in Lubbock.

This year will mark the 16th consecutive season College GameDay will originate from the site of the day's best game (generally announced the Monday before the game). Chris Fowler hosts the popular Saturday morning show with analysts Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit.
