STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS: "GHOSTS OF MORTIS"

Lucasfilm has released a clip from "Ghosts of Mortis," this Friday's new episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network.

To view the video, CLICK HERE.

Here's how the episode is described:

"With the fate of the galaxy on the line and Anakin himself tempted by absolute power over the Force, The Clone Wars continues to put a stake in the ground -- firmly establishing the series as essential viewing for a full understanding of the still-unfolding Star Wars canon. The Mortis trilogy is utterly central to the maelstrom of what's yet to come, bringing Anakin's terrible destiny to the fore. In 'Ghosts of Mortis,' see his inevitable seduction to the dark side -- in smoke-shrouded visions of the future, but also in the burning fires of the here and now. Plagued by a nightmarish glimpse of what he will become, Anakin will take up arms against his best friend amidst the fires of Mortis..."

"The prophecy is finally playing out, front and center," said Matt Lanter, who voices Anakin. "We are realizing that so many important events are being played out that will come to affect what happens in Revenge of the Sith. We see Anakin slowly becoming more independent, wanting more freedom and power. His relationships change. He has become even more of a leader, but may be questioning the Jedi leadership a little more. And it seems as if Anakin doesn't trust [Obi-Wan] as much, and thinks he is actually holding him back."

SMALLVILLE ROUNDUP

The CW has announced that the series finale of Smallville will air as a two-hour event on Friday, May 13 at 8 p.m.

Here's how the network sets up the finale:

"The story of a young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) and his journey to become the Man of Steel has captivated audiences for a decade. This final season, Clark attempts to find a balance between saving the world, which becomes even more difficult as the Vigilante Registration Act separates a nation, and spending time with his new fiancee Lois Lane (Erica Durance). Whether it's donning glasses as a disguise, changing in a phone booth or learning how to fly, this season has put Clark closer to his destiny than ever before. Taking on Darkseid and battling the darkest of his demons, this two-hour event will send Clark soaring towards his birthright to secure his place in history as the world's greatest protector."

"Paying homage to 10 seasons is no small task, and wrapping up each character and story arc has been extremely important to everyone involved in the show," said executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders. "We're excited to be able to make the final moments of Smallville a television event, as the character we've grown up with makes his legendary transformation."

THE DARKNESS VIDEO GAME SEQUEL

2K Games has announced that The Darkness II, the sequel to the million unit-selling 2007 title, The Darkness, will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and Windows PC in fall 2011.

Developed by Digital Extremes and based on the comic book from Top Cow, The Darkness II takes players down a brutal and personal path as Jackie Estacado, wielder of The Darkness -- an ancient and ruthless force of chaos and destruction.

Here's how the game is described:

"The Darkness II breaks out of the sea of conventional first-person shooters with its fervid Quad-Wielding gameplay, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with their Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with the use of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and engulfed in stylistic violence that is visualized through a hand-painted graphic noir technique that stays true to its comic book origins."

"The Darkness II is a well of dark and imaginative violence, and it's a stylized and beautiful nightmare," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "The Darkness II continues the 2K Games tradition of delivering quality, innovative games that are filled to the brim with atmosphere and deep storytelling. The game takes a unique stance on fighting in the dark versus light. Combined with the arsenal of weapons at Jackie's disposal and the gruesome attacks of the supernatural Demon Arms and Darkness powers, we're proud to announce another title that delivers on our core values of creating games for gamers."

Paul Jenking will write the game.
