Computational biology is impacting drug design and has the potential to revolutionize the
drug development process. Here, we describe how data-driven computational models can
optimize the design of targeted therapeutics to yield improved safety and efficacy. We
propose that, in the future, this approach will improve drug discovery, clinical development,
diagnosis and treatment.
