Skies will remain sunny this afternoon with high temperatures nearly 15 degrees above average. Of course a lack of a snow cover allows the darker bare ground to absorb more of the sun's energy which helps to heat the air in contact with the ground. As of this afternoon we see little or no chance for having a significant precipitation event here all this week. Slightly colder air will move down from the north for tomorrow and on Wednesday a weak storm in the upper atmosphere could bring some light snow during the day. An arctic cold front will drop down from the north late in the week ushering in much colder weather by Sunday.

So far this winter ranks in the the top ten warmest on record in our area.

What a day is upon you!!!! Even if you're stuck in an office, school, warehouse...whatever...Find time to place yourself in the warm sun today! Yes, temps in the 40s to near 50 degrees with abundant light from the mother star are all yours!! More clouds will be in the mix into Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday, but very little precipitation will fall. Oh...clouds, sun peeps and some flurries should cover those days with temps cutting back to the 30s and low 40s. Later in the week, the jet stream will strike back with a pattern change ushering in some colder air. By Saturday and Sunday, temps will struggle to reach freezing with clouds, sun a chilly wind and some flurries! To fight back at the cold, I plan on briefly running around in my secluded backyard wearing nothing but my wife's silky pink robe while chanting words of ancient Egyptian RA sun worship! ...Robin would want it that way!
